Zumba Creator Alberto Beto Perez

The word "Zumba" is slang for having fun and moving fast. Alberto Beto Perez is the creator of Zumba. Beto was born in Colombia, South America and is the founding father of Zumba and national director of the Master trainers team. Beto Perez is also a professional dancer and a celebrity choreographer. He is a genius behind some of the exciting choreography of Shakira and other celebrities. His style of aerobics dance workout uses Latin inspired dance steps such as Salsa, Merengue, Flamenco and Samba.

The Zumba fitness workout is a concept centering on using Latin dance to create an interval training session designed to burn calories in a fun and unique method. Through a mix of performing slow rhythms in addition to faster and more upbeat movements, the ability to burn a great deal of calories can be achieved. Best of all, it can be achieved in a manner that is not dull or strenuous.

I personally like this exercise video.  I've always done the latin dances quite well anyway.  Actually, the cha-cha movement is incorporated into many other genre's of dance.  I love the cha-cha. The swaying movement is easy to reciprocate and doesn't require major dance training.  Latin music is more about feeling the music rather than getting the specific move correctly.  I burn alot of calories having fun..

I purchased Zumba on sale here.
